“Gathering Momentum” is the first CD from local band Metamar. It is a collection of songs written by Pete Guy, and represents the music that the band has been making over the last 12 months.

It is a a blend of sensitive lyrics, guitars, banjo, violin and eclectic beats that make the Metamar sound unique and vibrant. The ingredients : a cupful of ambience, a hint of folk and heaps of foot tapping pop songs, all mixed to a recipe that is Metamar.

Just don’t ask them what the name means! Maybe we will never know the exact meaning, but it is a space where fresh, exciting and sometimes challenging music exists, and that will do for me!

Pete Guy has been writing award winning songs for a few years now, and it was in early 2007 when the band formed.
